MENTORSHIP

The music business relies on relationships.

We carefully pair mentors and mentees with the goal of creating and fostering 1:1 relationships between established and emerging music industry professionals.

What MENTORS & MENTEES Are Saying

“It wasn't the typical "you're going to be alright" motivation that I expected; it was genuine mentorship, introducing new connections, expanding my network and music industry knowledge, and actually providing guidance into furthering my career that had real results. This was a key factor in gaining a real promotion with a real pay raise. Now I get to hang out with my hero, Quincy Jones, all the time and work directly with him.”

“Being part of the AAC Mentor Class 2 has been unexpectedly one of the most rewarding experiences of 2021 for me. Not only did I make a lifelong connection with my mentee, but also lifelong friendships with other mentors in the cohort. Had I had this type of support system or community when I first entered the industry, I am sure I would’ve had much fewer nights of feeling isolated or alone in my experiences and/ or racial identity. Grace, Caroline & Zeena have built something nothing short of incredible & extremely necessary for Asian-Americans in Entertainment. This is a group of people I hope to stay connected with for the rest of my career.”

“Being part of Asian American Collective's mentorship program not only provided me the opportunity for personal and professional growth, but introduced me to a ~bad ass~ group of people navigating the industry as well. For the first time in my life, I found a community that also became a safe space, and I'm forever grateful for that!”

“This was such an incredible experience and it gave me a lot of hope for the future of our community in this industry.

I learned as much from my mentee as she did from me and I'm very grateful to everyone at AAC for bringing this talented and inspiring group of people together.”
